Data Engineer

The Select Group is looking for a strong Data Engineer for one of their top tech clients. This is going to be a long term contract located in Cupertino, CO (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote). As a Data Engineer for the Growth Marketing Operations team, you will design, develop, and work on data solutions to support Growth initiatives for the organizations’ Media Products and Services. This role will help scale our data signals program and closely partner with engineering teams across the organization. You will work across several lines of business and stakeholder teams to help optimize the delivery of data signals, data validation, and documentation. The Data Signals Engineer will leverage data assets to enable our marketers to make decisions that reach the right users at the right time.

Data Engineer Requirements:

• High proficiency in SQL (Snowflake, Teradata, any other DB).
• Data Engineering solutions experience - designing and researching technical solutions for new data pipelines.
• Good understanding of database modeling, ETL and data warehousing principles.
• High proficiency in Python scripting and RestAPIs.
• Data Marketing experience.
• Ability to analyze current architecture and develop steps and processes to improve upon it.
• Experience converting business needs into functional design.
• Excellent debugging and documentation experience, particularly with iOS apps.
• Excellent communication skills; experience working with cross functional teams, discussing technical design, back-end architecture, and data pipelines.

PLUS SKILLS:

• Experience working with privacy and compliance engineering teams, to ensure data and systems are in compliance.
• Experience in Tableau or similar Data Visualization tools.
• Experience developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
• Ability to prioritize and succeed under rapidly changing, time-constrained schedules.
• Curious mindset with an ability to condense complex concepts into clear and concise action items.
• Experience in working in a global organization.

Data Engineer Responsibilities:

• Building Data Systems: Design and develop new data systems or improve existing ones. These systems (or "data signals") help marketers understand user behaviors and optimize their marketing efforts.
• SQL and Python scripting.
• Research and design of systems.
• Solutions documentation.
• Validation.
• Collaborating Across Teams: Partner closely with various teams (like engineering and compliance) to ensure data is high-quality, properly documented, and aligns with privacy standards.
• Analyzing and Improving: Regularly check current data architecture and find ways to make it better, like more efficient data processing or stronger privacy measures.
