We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our innovative team at Alt Mobility. As a key contributor to our Electric Vehicle management operations, you will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge solutions to optimize battery health and life prediction.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Acquisition and Processing: Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to collect and process vehicle and battery CAN data. Develop robust data pipelines to ensure data quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Conduct in-depth analysis of battery performance data to identify key indicators of battery health and degradation. Visualize data effectively to communicate insights to stakeholders.
  • Model Development and Validation: Build predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to forecast battery health, remaining useful life, and potential failure points. Evaluate model performance using appropriate metrics and refine models iteratively.
  • Feature Engineering: Create meaningful features from raw data to enhance model accuracy and interpretability. Explore different feature engineering techniques to optimize model performance.
  • Anomaly Detection: Develop algorithms to identify abnormal battery behavior or potential issues that require attention. Implement early warning systems to prevent equipment failure.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Provide actionable insights based on data analysis to optimize battery maintenance, replacement strategies, and asset management decision.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and operations, to translate data insights into business value.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R programming languages and data science libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Experience in working with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
  • Solid understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and time series analysis.
  • Expertise in data visualization and storytelling to effectively communicate complex findings.
  • Knowledge of battery chemistry, electric vehicle systems, and CAN data is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the automotive or energy industry.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
