We are looking to hire a Global Data Scientist Digital Marketing Transformation immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Position Summary:

  • This Global Data Scientist - Digital Marketing Transformation will be responsible for leading the predictive modeling and advanced analytics in digital marketing for the Global Marketing and Sales organization. A data scientist in digital marketing uses a variety of data collected in the digital space to drive actionable marketing strategies, ensuring decisions are driven by insights rather than intuition. This role requires a combination of strong analytics skill and business understanding, and the individual in this role will need to develop expertise in driving customer engagement and brand growth through various data driven techniques. This includes working with the business team on digital marketing efforts, such as personalization and consumer journey optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize data, technical and analytical capabilities of global digital marketing and experience.
  • Build predictive models to forecast customer behavior, such as purchase likelihood and lifetime value, and use these models to optimize marketing efforts.
  • Support implementation of AI into marketing and sales processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to find new and improved tools and approaches to bring into McCormick.
  • Develop training that enables business partners to use marketing analytic capabilities more effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Data Science, or closely related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in analytics, data science, or related field.
  • Demonstrated skills and results in analyzing complex datasets, generating insights and building robust statistical models.
  • Experience with statistical methods, building data models, machine learning & AI required.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect the dots between complex data/analytics and business understanding.
  • Ability/desire to communicate to and work with a non-technical audience on analytic analyses.
  • Proficiency with building dashboards for business users using data visualization software (Power BI preferred).
  • Expertise in coding in one or more languages (Python and SQL preferred, R, Java, etc.).
  • Comfortable working with structured and unstructured data sources, e.g. syndicated data, GA data.
  • Proven project leadership experience with demonstrated success in balancing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; foresees and addresses issues before they become significant obstacles.
  • Strong technical curiosity, a passion for problem solving and the ability to uncover richness of analytic insight that translates to business opportunity.
  • Demonstrated agile learning skills; ability to learn new technology, skills & tools quickly and easily.
  • Ability to synthesize analytic learnings and translate into compelling stories for a business audience.
  • Effective at building collaborative, cross functional and cross-geography partnerships.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel domestically & internationally as needed (0-5%).
  • Strong personal leadership, including attention to detail, quality of work and bias toward action.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPG or Food/Bev experience.
  • Experience with MarTech tools (CRMs, CDPs) and working with first-party data to deliver actionable insights.
  • Expertise with Microsoft Azure/AWS/Google cloud computing environments and model development a plus.

Salary and compensation

$86,390 - $151,220 per year
