IT Intern Data Engineer

Weyerhaeuser Company is one of the world's largest private owners of softwood timber and one of the world's largest producers of softwood lumber, hardwood lumber, engineered lumber, softwood market pulp, and containerboard and paper-based packaging products. Our IT teams combine cutting edge technology to continuously changing inventory to collect, store, transform and report on data to our key business partners.

Weyerhaeuser's Data Analytics team is searching for someone who is passionate and enthusiastic about supporting a data-driven organization. The focus of this internship will be to partner with our data engineers and business partners to build data products on our modern data platform leveraging cloud-based tools including Snowflake, DBT, and Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Purview, and Power BI. Opportunities are available depending on the intern’s skillset to work back-end data pipelines and platform services, and/or transform raw data into actionable insights with certified datasets and dashboards. Our team works with a broad set of internal and external data sources across our core business segments and corporate function teams.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver end-to-end data and analytics capabilities, which can include data ingestion, data transformation, data modeling, data science, and data visualization
• Participate in the entire lifecycle for data application delivery from requirements gathering, design, build, test, and rollout to business stakeholders
• Identify, develop, and maintain solutions that automate, simplify, and overall improve service delivery
• Embrace DevOps to quickly deploy high-quality solutions with standard CI/CD and IaC practices
• Work within an agile team in a dynamic, fast-moving, collaborative environment
• Follow all IT general controls and IT security policies

The duration of this internship is approximately 5 1/2 months beginning in January 2025.
